In China, incorporating environmental protection into economic development is an important idea that was first raised by Professor Ye Wenhu in the mid-1980s. The idea emerged at a seminar about environmental science, where leading experts explained that economic activities were the main cause of environmental problems and emphasized the necessity to educate entrepreneurs on the importance of environmental protection.
